Portland Bolt Announces Major Expansion of Southeast Manufacturing Facility

Portland Bolt & Manufacturing Co., LLC (Portland Bolt), a leading domestic manufacturer and global provider of anchor bolts and nonstandard construction fasteners, and Direct Tension Indicating (DTI) washers through its Applied Bolting Technology division, today announced the completion of a significant expansion of its Southeast manufacturing facility. The North Augusta, South Carolina location has grown from 25,000 square feet to 62,500 square feet, nearly tripling its footprint and enabling increased production capacity, enhanced service offerings, and improved lead times for customers across the Eastern United States.

The expansion includes a state-of-the-art hot-dip galvanizing line designed to provide consistent, high-quality corrosion protection for Portland Bolt’s manufactured products. This new system not only enhances internal production capabilities, but also allows Portland Bolt to offer galvanizing as a service for external partners across multiple industries, including construction, infrastructure, fabrication, utilities, and transportation. The upgraded facility also features expanded cut-threading capabilities up to 2.5 inches in diameter, as well as new bending and welding operations, providing a comprehensive suite of fastener manufacturing services under one roof.

“This expansion represents a major milestone in our commitment to supporting customers with unmatched speed, quality, and technical expertise,” said Blake Ray, CEO of Portland Bolt. “By significantly increasing our presence on the East Coast and adding new capabilities, we’re improving national coverage with greater rush-order capacity, faster turnaround times, and more efficient production flow, strengthening our ability to meet urgent project needs and deliver the industry-leading service our partners expect.”

“Our Southeast team is excited to bring these expanded services to the market,” said Todd McGurk, VP of Operations at Portland Bolt. “The additional space and equipment ensure we can produce, galvanize, and ship high-quality products with even greater efficiency, while strengthening our support for the region’s growing construction and infrastructure needs.”

The completion of this expansion strengthens Portland Bolt’s regional manufacturing capabilities and underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to U.S.-based production and nationwide infrastructure needs.
