Coursera Named among the TIME100 Most Influential Companies of 2025

Coursera, a leading online learning platform, has been named to the fifth annual TIME100 Most Influential Companies list, which highlights companies making an extraordinary impact around the world.

“Generative AI presents both a unique challenge and an exciting opportunity to the global workforce,” said Greg Hart, CEO of Coursera. “Being named one of the most influential companies by Time is a tremendous honor—and a reminder of the responsibility we share with our partners to keep expanding access to high-demand skills for learners around the world.”

With GenAI transforming the labor market, it is also driving a significant shift in online education as people seek to learn how to understand and apply this new technology. Coursera earned its place on the TIME100 list for its relentless work towards democratizing access to AI education. The company offers more than 750 GenAI courses from leading universities and companies such Google, IBM, DeepLearning.AI, Vanderbilt University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Pennsylvania, and the surge in demand continues to rise. This year, Coursera has seen 12 enrollments per minute in GenAI content on the platform.

In addition to its vast content catalog, Coursera has harnessed the power of AI to launch powerful features that increase access, including course translations in 26 languages and voice dubbing in six languages. Millions of learners worldwide can now develop job-relevant skills more effectively in their native language.

To assemble the list, TIME solicited nominations across sectors and polled its global network of contributors and correspondents, as well as outside experts. Then TIME editors evaluated each on key factors, including impact, innovation, ambition, and success. The result is a diverse group of 105 businesses helping chart an essential path forward.
