CPV Basin Ranch Energy Center Breaks Ground in Ward County, Texas
Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) officially broke ground today on the construction of the CPV Basin Ranch Energy Center, a 1,350-megawatt combined-cycle natural gas power plant in the Permian Basin. Company leaders, project partners, and community members gathered to celebrate the milestone.
CPV Basin Ranch and Texas Energy Fund Ink Deal for 1,350 MW ERCOT Project
Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) and the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) have executed a $1.1 billion low-interest Texas Energy Fund (TxEF) loan to build a 1,350-megawatt combined-cycle natural gas power plant in the Permian Basin. The project will immediately transition to construction with operations expected to start in 2029.
Multi-Billion Dollar Combined Cycle Natural Gas Power Station with Carbon Capture Announced in West Virginia by Competitive Power Ventures
Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) today announced that it has selected West Virginia for a ~1,800 MW combined-cycle natural gas power station utilizing carbon capture and storage. Following permitting and construction, the project will go into operation later this decade. The project was made possible by the advancement of the recently passed federal legislation, known as the Inflation Reduction Act, that expanded the 45Q federal tax credit for carbon capture.
